No depression

Crowes were mentioned this week on Stern and Quivers.

Howard mentioned, something to the effect of “Chris Robinson is one of the great frontmen ever in rock n roll.”

And his brother is in the band.

I remember laughing at a Robinson profile recently in which he says Oliver Stone’s film”The Doors” was something to the effect of “the worst movie I have ever seen.”

Kyle and I saw them at the Greek theatre back in the day. I seem to recall a Lollapalooza show also, maybe (Irvine with Beck).

Bad hombres

I tried the new taco truck (tent) outside Ralphs. I can report the tacos are good (pastor on a spit).

What marred the visit experience after getting sundries at Ralphs, where I made a point to get cash-back.

Approaching the young muchache at the “register”, before I ordered, a young white guy, seemingly well-to-do and I hear him say seemingly after ordering or eating, “Do you take American Express?”

“Come-on bro” is what I was thinking in my Jared impression (Big Brother 25.)

I chime in “There is an ATM at Ralphs.” Not including my own cash back story. He looks back at Ralph’s at first happily/expectantly and then says something to the effect “that won’t work either”

Dude responds saying essentially “No money in the ATM.” The muchacha at the register directs him to a sign with a phone number saying Zelle. I had not heard of this app-service, cryto? This got above my pay-grade with no MSW degree (social work).

At two dollars a taco I probably could have covered his bill, but chose not to do that for the sake of this story.

If this was some taco tent “scheme” I would have been more keen to a direct appeal from him to cover his meal.

Dude decides to call a friend to have his friend Zelle the funds to the taco truck (tent). In any case I didn’t stick around to see resolution. Calling a friend for Zelle– like I said c’mon bro, A.E. is like a Canadian looney in Tijuana to these guys.
